Most Windows computers in Poe Hall automatically map O: and/or H: to CED Share. The College’s shared network-attached storage space (frequently referred to as “CED Share” or “the O: drive) contains departmental folders, individual home folders, and research folders for faculty and staff in Education and Psychology. AFS Home space is sometimes referred to as one’s “K Drive” because when logging into a Windows Unity Station one’s personal AFS Home is automatically mapped to K.ĪFS Home lockers are accessible from any computer with an Internet connection and a Secure FTP (SFTP) client like ExpanDrive. In addition, all NC State students, faculty and staff have a personal AFS Home where they can store up to 350MB of data for free (additional space can be rented). UNITY AFS LOCKERSĪFS is the distributed file space system used by OIT to provide network accessible file storage for course and project lockers, as well as web hosting. When relocating equipment within Poe Hall or to/from the Friday Institute, please notify the Help Desk at Network File ServicesĪ number of network file services are available to NC State faculty and staff for use as storage, backup space, course lockers, file distribution services, etc. Education IT will prepare and send this document to you when you take possession of this equipment.
A digital CA-2 form must also be filled out for portable equipment such as laptops and tablets. The College Computer and Technology Committee accepts purchase proposals from Education and Psychology faculty for instructional student-use technologies.ĮTF Proposal Form Technology Home Use and Relocationįaculty, staff and students who receive departmental approval to remove equipment from the campus for use at home must digitally sign a NC State Equipment Tracking Home Use Authorization Form (NC State Form CA-2). The State of North Carolina requires that we purchase computers from a set of standard approved models and through the University’s Marketplace portal.
